The technologies part needs developing- you have used more than the ones you state and don't just comment on the technical things you've learnt but also how using technoligies helped you with lots of other skills.
The prelim bit is a little bit brief- again, what skills have you learnt and think about the whole process of learning.

Contents Page
Fourth Draft:
I have changes the word 'regular' to 'regulars' because looking at real music magazines as well as my real media artifacts, this is the word they all use and it makes more sense. I have also changed the fonts of both the main text and titles because I think they now go with the titles more and look more effective
Third Draft:
I have made the name of the magazin bigger, streched it alont the top of the page as I think before it was squashed and didnt look as though it had enough room. I have also moved the white bubble adversement for winning hackney tickets to the leftof the page in order to fill in the empty gap.
Second Draft:
I have changed the size of the picture and moved it to the top right and side of the page as I think it looks better here, and leaves room for advertisements which are normally at the bottom of the contents page. I have moved the offer on subscribing to the magazine to the bottom as this looks better. I have also made the text 'this week' and 'regular' bold and changed the font to make it stand out more and clearer for the reader to see and understand.
This is the first draft of my contents page, I have included a picture of the front cover in order to promote the magazine - this is in the codes and coventions of magazines. I have also included another image of the main, featured artist as
this makes the magazine more interesting, as well as clearer for the reader to understand. However, I think there is a lot of empty space therefore I am going to develop it more and fill the white gaps.
Front Cover
I have added a light blue background, using the colour picker so that the background is the same colour as some of the blues in Nikkita's shirt. I have also changed the fonts because I think these fonts go better with the title and name of the magazine, they make it all tie in better together and I think the more important words and names stand out.

'areas to consider when planning' spider diagram.
I have changed the image back to the one I had on the first draft - as I
mentioned above, however, I have edited the photo in photoshop and got rid of
the background. I have also changed the font as I think this looks better and
adds to the look I am trying to create with this magazine.

and reflects the artist more. I have also changed the background from the
graffiti to a plain grey background as the graffiti background distracted the
audience from the artist. I ahve also added a pug as I think the front cover
looked quite empty and needed more to atract the audience. I have also got rid
of the spaces between the letters in the title as I think this looks better.
Having looked at this draft, I think this image is not as good as the first one
- it makes the artist look like she is very young therefor I am going to change
it back to the image on my first draft.
accross the top, however, having reflected on the image and thought about it
compared with my real media artifacts, I think the background of the image is
too much for the front cover. It distracts the audience from the text and image
of the artist. I also think the artist is smiling too much for the impression I
am trying to create of her.

Fonts and layout
I think this background could be very effective as the different tones make it interesting. I do think it may be a little dark though and could over power the text and images.
As the name of the magazine is in purple I have thought about using this and I do not think this would look best as the colourings are too similar to the colour of the magazine name.
Although this could be quite boring because it is just plain grey, I think this background could be effective as it is very simple, therefore the text and images would stand out.
Having put each of these titles on the front cover of the magazine and reviewed what it looks like with the image (above), I think the very last one looks the best. However I am going to change the colour and although below I have said the colour scheme is going to be purple and gold, I am going to make the title black as it ties in with the house style best.

How my research will inform my planning
most popular as 46% of the people I asked said they would prefer to read about pop
music. When analysing the top of the pops magazine, I found the language used
was very simple because this is appropriate for the age group the magazine is
aimed at, as well as this the colours are bright and vibrant. The second most
popular magazine was R&B, 30% of the people I asked said they would prefer
to read about R&B. The amount of people who said they would prefer R&B
was not a lot less than the amount of people who said they would prefer pop.
Having looked at all of my questionnaire results and what is currently on the
market, I have decided to create an R&B magazine because there is a huge
gap in the market for R&B magazines, the main R&B magazine is only sold
in America therefore I think it would be appropriate to create a new one that
can be sold in England.
I am going to use a similar colour scheme to Vibe magazine , although I will change it a little bit so that it suits a female audience instead of a male audience, having analysed that and seen
how it appeals to its target audience I think it would be a good idea. The main colours I will use are dark colour associated with R&B music. These colours also appeal to my target audience which are 16-20 year old females.
Product placement
Having looked online on websites like OK! and Hello, I have discovered that many magazines are also available online as subscriptions so that readers can get their magazine delivered to their door – this is very easy and convenient for the reader. I am going to do this with my magazine despite the fact that online magazines were not as popular as buying a magazine in the shops, I think it will be preferred for some readers.

Questionnaire analysis

The majority of people I asked were female, there was only one more female person then male, I don't think this will affect my results because 1 person will not make a difference at all.
The majority of people I asked - 77% said they read a music magazine once a month which shows this is the most preferred interval to bring out a music magazine. 12% said both once a week and once every two months, this is a very small percentage - therefore this is probably too often or not often enough to bring out a new magazine.
81% of people I asked said they purchase music magazines in a shop - this shows it is the most common and popular way to purchase a music magazine, and it is maybe not appropriate to make an online version because only 19% of people said they purchase a music magazine online.
This question told me that 54% of people buy their magazine in HMV, rather than Tesco's and the cop-op. The only online website that was mentioned was the NME website and only 11% said they buy their music magazine from here. This tells me that people are more likely and prefer to buy a music magazine from a shop.
In this question I found the majority of people - 69% are happy to pay £2-£3 but when writing the questionnaire, I missed out the price bands £1-£2 and £3-£4 and having looked at the prices of a magazine £3-£4 is the average price of a magazine. Therefore when I price my magazine I will price it in between these two bands.
In this question I found out that 79% of people asked said they would prefer to read about upcoming artists, therefore when I am creating and writing my music magazine I will include more of these because people will enjoy reading this more.
This question shows there is no clear preference between whether people like to receive free giveaways or not, however just 8 more percent of people said they would prefer not to receive a free giveaway.
42% of people who said they would like to receive free giveaways said they would like to receive a CD - I think this shows that people want to receive something more expensive and something they will keep. I will keep this in mind when creating my magazine.
This question shows many participants would like to see the colour white - 41% chose white as one of their colours.
When I asked this question, I gave the people I asked a choice out of all of these genres, as well as giving them an 'other'choice so that I could find out what exactly they like to read about. The result of this question was that the majority - 46% of people said they would prefer to read about pop music. After this, 30% said they would prefer to read about R&B music. This will help me in choosing what genre of music I do in my magazine.
The results of this question show that people prefer to read about the latest gossip on artists. 65% of the people i asked said they would pefer to read about gossip. Because of this I am going to put some gossip into my magazibe so that it appeals to the target audience.
